Sharing your location

If you found an item, you can tap "Share my location" when messaging the owner. Your location is only used if you tap the button and allow it in your browser - never automatically. It's added to your message as a Google Maps link, which you can edit or remove before sending.

Once sent, the link is part of the conversation: only the item's owner (and their family members, if the item is shared) and ReturnMeBack admins can see it.

Owners can share their location in a reply the same way - for example to suggest where to meet. The finder then sees it, and if the finder asked for replies by email, it's in that email too. Deleting the conversation doesn't remove it from an email that was already sent.

The conversation shows the spot on a map from OpenStreetMap. Loading the map sends the location and the viewer's IP address to OpenStreetMap. Opening the link sends the same to Google Maps.

Your postal address

You can add a postal address on your profile. We only use it to post your ReturnMeBack stickers, and only ReturnMeBack admins can see it.

When we post stickers to you, we keep a copy of the address they went to with that shipment, so we can tell which stickers went where. Changing or removing your address later doesn't change that record.

You can change or remove your address at any time on your profile page.
